Religious Practices

I have really been loving Regina's blog and especially liked the advice her spiritual director gave in her latest post. A while back I read The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence and her's seems a perfect example of this practice. John has been doing a bit of his own sort of religious practice of late. He's been standing on some sort of elevated place (a chair, a book, or whatever's handy) and then 'reading' or singing from his books - just like the readers or cantors at church. At first he would only use red books from Dan's bookshelf (they look more like the hymnals at church), but lately he's been using more of his own books. With Katie in town, Spanish words seem to pop up in his vocabulary, so when he's been singing out of his 'hymnal', he's been saying things like 'chicken ' and 'fish' in Spanish instead of his usual 'Alleluja, Jesus, and Amen' that he normally interjects among the general jibberish.
