simple 27

our simple art gallery : art by John

We do a lot of coloring around here. I recently put up a little art wire (inspired, once again, by the Creative Family book), and now we can admire these beautiful works of art instead of let them kick around who knows where. I'm curious, how do you store your kids art?? Or do you? I confess, I throw most things away (such an awful mama, maybe - but I can't stand the clutter!). I would love to have easy system of storage so that the boys could look back at their progress.

Where did you get that wire? I admit I do the same either throw it away but the good stuff I keep in piles around the house or on the fridge.

I love that idea!! some go into the, um, circular file, and some I want to hang on to-- a line in our learning room would look nice, and we can "rotate" the art!

Love your art wire! Great idea for displaying treasured works and adding color to a room. I usually just rotate stuff on the refrigerator... ho-hum.

As far as storing masterpieces... I'm selective. The ones I keep I store in folders (if they fit) or stacked flat in our art cabinet.

I'm really enjoying your "simple" series!

I have never kept a lucia drawing. THat is bad! what kind of wire is that? I will probably put them in an album or box.

I have stacks and stacks and stacks of art from the 3 kids who do all the art in our house. Paddy hasn't really started coloring yet. I have DEFINITELY thrown away a TON of "art". But it's mostly the stuff that the younger ones did. Like 12 scribbles on a page. I do save the good ones though. And with 3 artists, I have alot of art. Most of it is stored in my junk drawer. But I have recently thought that I need a small filing cabinet so I can have a section for each kid, and get accordian folders to stuff their stuff into. Most of their stuff is 8 1/3 x 11 paper, so that should work well. I also will need to do that for school work that has been returned home. School work is in stacks in my closet, but with Teresa starting this year, I'll have to make that more organized too. Man. The paper kids go through...it's AWESOME!!!! :)
