it's still Christmas

We took the tree down.  The sad little thing stopped taking up water some time before Christmas day, and quickly became a fire hazard.  Not to mention a pokey mess.  But I've left all the other decorations up, and we're still playing carols. I'm even thinking about putting up more twinkle lights, and now it's snowing, so it still feels like Christmas.  Which is very, very good.
Uncle Ryan came for a bit.  Uncles who do magic are always well appreciated.
Our new years eve was pretty tame.  The whole family has been really into Little Town on the Prairie  reading several chapters a night together.  (Now whenever someone is acting in a rather naughty-ish way, the mean name that get's thrown at them is Nellie Olsen.) So we read a bunch of that, I knit some, kids went to bed, and Dan and I had a beer. (Sadly, since having Allie, I've found - horror of horrors - I can't drink wine. So Bodington's Cream Ale is my new friend.)
So here we are. January 2nd. We didn't really make any new resolutions. Just the same resolutions we seem to make every month.  Which shows just how disciplined we are.  So anyways, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you!!!! We are still celebrating Christmas too. For us, Christmas doesn't actually COME until the 25th and lasts for 12 days until Jan 6th. Since Advent is a time for fasting and reflection, the partying doesn't really start until the 25th. Have a fab rest of the season!!!!

No snow here, but we could use the SUN!!! It's been cloudy for a month. . .
