except for the fact that there is no snow, and from the text below I can tell it hadn't reached our current 'hotter than hades' temps, so that means about 5 weeks ago??? I don't know, but here you go!
Dan had to go out of town, again. The week before was for work. This time it was because of a family emergency. (Dan's dad and grandma are sick, so if you could, please pray.) So it has been a lot of four-on-one time with these kiddos. In fact, out of all the times Dan has ever had to leave, I think that it was the first time I did it solo. I usually beg my mom to fly out, but this time I decided I would try to be brave. Well Dan is home now, and I'm writing this, so I must have survived. I couldn't help but think of Ma Ingalls. She didn't have texting and cell phones, and I know I would have made the worst pioneer wife ever.
Summer is here-ish, though not according to the locals. Everyone is complaining about how cold and drizzly it is. Seriously, the weather man couldn't say enough bad things about it. All the while, Dan and I are smiling, as we feel quite comfortable in this stint of gray that reminds us of our native land. I'm not saying gray and drizzle is the best by any stretch, but it's not snow, and it's not too hot, it's not raining too hard to do stuff, it's just not very pretty.
So the boys and I don't mind getting a little rain. We did some yard work while Allie napped. Then she woke and we hung out on the porch. She sure has those boys wrapped around her finger.
